Pool (Poolian: Pöl), officially the Kingdom of Pool (Poolian: Keriget Pöl) is a sovereign state located in Northern Wechall, bordered by Norwall to the north, Deltere to the northwest, Bachiseria and Haff to the southwest, and Efterland to the southeast. Its capital and most populous city is Kammer, on the eastern coast.
Pool was first unified under the Kingdom of Deltere in the 14th-century along with modern-day Norwall, with the two of them functioning as inferior kingdoms below the Delterian monarchy. Unlike many nations, Deltere colonized Blasmer in the 16th-century but did not take any slaves back to Wechall. Because of this, modern-day Pool lacks the thriving black culture that many other Wechallian nations have. In 1841, Pool received their independence from Deltere after a peaceful independence referendum. Queen Diana II has ruled as a constitutional monarch since 2012. Since its independence, Pool has established itself as one of the most democratic, economically developed, and progressive nations in the world.
Pool has a population of about 8.0 million, with the population evenly spread throughout the country. About 76% of the population identifies as ethnically Norwallian. There is a sizable Postadian community at about 7%, which primarily came to the country following the independence of Postad in 1970. The remaining 17% primarily consists of immigrants, with Pool being the most diverse and immigrant-friendly nation in the world. The national and sole official language of the nation is Poolian, a Taglag language, which in actuality is a dialect of Delterian. While the Poolian constitution advocates for the freedom of religion, Poolians largely adhere to Church of Pool, a Christian religion. However, the population is largely irreligious.
